John 20:1-31

Yesterday (Easter Sunday) John spoke about the resurrection of Christ. The stone was rolled away from the tomb so that people could look inside themselves and see that Jesus was gone. His head cloth folded and the strips of linen still inside.

Rarely do we think about the fact that women were the first to find that Jesus had risen, the first to see Jesus, and the first to share their testimony. The fact that in an ancient time, John wrote the first testimony about a woman shows us the legitimacy of the account. Not only that, but it shows the value that Jesus placed on women.

When John and Peter heard the women say that the tomb was empty, they took off running to see for themselves. When they saw the empty tomb with the head cloth folded, they believed. John was so convinced of what he saw so he recorded everything as his testimony, thus we have the book of John.

As we continued to talk about testimonies, we were challenged to sit around with our families and simply tell them our testimony.

Do you believe? Do you know Jesus? What is your story? If you would like to begin a conversation about following Jesus or would like to talk more about how your story and the Gospel connect, we would love to hear from you.
