John 4:1-42 Part 2

For the next several months we will be walking through the life and teachings of Jesus as told to us by someone who walked with Him, the Apostle John.

A few weeks ago, John Reeves spent some time talking through the story of the Samaritan woman at the well (see video here). This week we circled back to John chapter 4 to capture another piece of this amazing story. Jesus makes his pronouncement to this woman that He is the Messiah, but in the process He also conveys a deep truth about worship. “But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now,” He says, “when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:23-24). As we consider the only right response to interacting with the Messiah, it should be to worship in “spirit and truth”.

Have you experienced the Messiah? If you would like to begin a conversation about following Jesus or would like to talk more about how your story and the Gospel connect, we would love to hear from you.
