John 16:1-15

For the next several months we will be walking through the life and teachings of Jesus as told to us by someone who walked with Him, the Apostle John.

We fast-forwarded in our study of John’s Gospel again this week. For the next few week’s we’ll be looking at some of the final teachings of Jesus and then throughout the summer we’ll be exploring Jesus’ seven statements about “I am…”. Today John Reeves took some time to walk us through Jesus’ introduction of the coming of the Holy Spirit. For the disciples who were hearing the news that Jesus was leaving them soon and would then send them the Holy Spirit, this was a difficult teaching. It seems that the Holy Spirit continues to be the most difficult part of the Trinity for us to understand today. Is there a time in your recent memory that you can remember seeing the Holy Spirit clearly working? Do you need to respond to His prompting today? Do you need to carve out some time today to read God’s Word and ask the Holy Spirit to illuminate it for you? Is this teaching difficult for you to understand? We’d love to hear from you. You can comment below or send us an email here.

If you would like to begin a conversation about following Jesus or would like to talk more about how your story and the Gospel connect, we would love to hear from you. If you have questions, please feel free to ask them here.
