John 8:12-15; 9:1-41

For the next several months we will be walking through the life and teachings of Jesus as told to us by someone who walked with Him, the Apostle John.

This week we spent our time on Jesus’ statement: “I am the light of the world.” John Reeves walked us through how when we live in the light, we are able to experience great freedom. Bringing our sins to the light is painful in the beginning, but it is also liberating because it brings us back into right relationship with the King and Creator of the Universe. At the close of our time together, John read the story of the man that was born blind. Jesus uses his blindness to show the man (and His disciples) His power. Jesus uses the opportunity to teach His disciples about quick obedience, but also to teach the Pharisees that Jesus “entered this world to render judgment—to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind.” (John 9:39).

Is there something that you are currently struggling with that you need to bring to the light? Do you need to bring yourself back in to right relationship with Jesus? Do you need to submit all of yourself (sins and all) to Him?

If you would like to begin a conversation about following Jesus or would like to talk more about how your story and the Gospel connect, we would love to hear from you. If you have questions, please feel free to ask them here.
