Exploring Your Faith

We encourage our Middle School students to explore their faith through building a better understanding of Scripture, small groups, and community. We build on the foundation set in RADIUS Kids by giving depth to the Bible stories that they encountered there. Our greatest hope is that students would meet Jesus and eventually surrender their lives to Him alone. We believe our Middle School students are the next generation of priests and prophets that will impact an even larger radius.

Partnering with Parents

We want to provide a “second voice” in the lives of our students – one outside of the home that speaks truth and encouragement into their lives and one that partners with what parents are trying to achieve at home. We do this primarily by providing a space where students can learn and grow in relationship with Jesus, build friendships with other students and walk through life with other adults who can teach them to be better followers of Jesus. The primary place that this happens is in our Wednesday night gathering of RADIUS Students.

What to Expect - Wednesdays

Wednesday nights are for having fun and building community within our Middle School student group. We use this time to teach, worship together and to learn through our age/gender-specific small groups. The 4th Wednesday of each month we do a “Serve the City” night where we go outside of the walls of our church (and out of our comfort zones) to serve the Lexington community through various projects and events. This is where we exercise the “do” side of our faith.

Shawn Crews | Middle School Pastor

I was born in Bitburg, Germany before I moved to Sumter with my family as a small boy. I attended USC where I got my degree in Economics (2010) and did some additional work in Religion and History. My wife Haley and I just celebrated our 3rd anniversary and just celebrated the birth of our son, Moxley. In my free time, I enjoy anything athletic as well as photography and drawing house plans. I have been involved in student ministry since 2005 through various organizations (local churches, Salkehatchie, Campus Crusade).  Haley and I have called RADIUS Church home since 2011 and have served with RADIUS Students since 2011.
