Who We Are

Our Beliefs

As Jesus-followers, we are called to go to people on behalf of God and to God on behalf of people. Therefore, we love, build relationships with, and share the Gospel with our neighbors, friends, coworkers, and acquaintances.

Additionally, RADIUS joins the long line of those who love and follow Jesus in affirming the truths of the Apostles Creed:

We believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. The third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.

In addition to the Apostles Creed, the following beliefs are shared by historical Christianity and are core to RADIUS….

How to Connect in Community

It is not good for man to be alone. (Genesis 2:18)

When God spoke these words, Adam lived in the garden of Eden – paradise still at his fingertips. Even though he walked with God daily, his joy was still incomplete without others to share it. Adam’s ache and desire for lasting relationships was not a result of the Fall or of sin – they were a core attribute of his perfect humanity. We believe that there are many benefits for followers of Jesus who engage in Gospel-community. At RADIUS there are three primary ways to jump into community:

  1. Groups
  2. Serve Teams
  3. Partnership

Following Jesus

First and foremost, our hope for anyone who calls RADIUS their church home is that they would be a disciple of Jesus. There are some core beliefs about Jesus, mankind, and God’s plan for redemption on which all disciples of Jesus agree:
Mankind was created in God’s image. (Genesis 1:27)

When Adam and Eve sinned they were separated from God. (Genesis 3:1-24)

As Adam’s offspring, we are born sinful and we live in rebellion against God. (Romans 3:23; Romans 3:10)

Because of our sin, we are separated from God. The consequences of sin is death. However, God has given his people a free gift – eternal life in Jesus. (Romans 5:12; Romans 6:23)

Even those who have never heard the name or claims of Jesus can see the handiwork of God in creation. (Romans 1:20)

God also showed His love for us in His sacrificial gift of Jesus’ death on the Cross. (Romans 5:8)

By declaring with our mouths that “Jesus is Lord” and believing in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, can have eternal salvation and peace with God. (Romans 10:9-10)

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Romans 10:13)

Because of God’s gracious gift of Jesus, we have been forgiven of our sins and made right through faith in Jesus. We are therefore no longer under God’s judgment and are no longer separated from God. (Romans 8:1; Romans 8:38-39)

If you would like to know more about a relationship with Jesus, we’d love to hear from you.

Groups

Groups are the best place to connect in biblical community at RADIUS Church. They are the place to get to know others and for you to be known. Don’t do life alone – jump in a group today! Our groups are currently working through the Discovery Bible Study system. New groups will begin in January 2020. For more information, visit the Groups page below:

Partnership

Covenant Partnership is RADIUS’ version of membership. Since our beginning we have stayed away from using the term ‘member’ simply because it elicits the idea that when you become a member, you become a recipient of certain services. ‘Partner’ on the other hand, promotes the idea of joining together – in this case, joining together to make Jesus famous in our community and around the world.

Covenant Partnership extends that idea a bit further. A covenant partnership allows those who call RADIUS Church their home to ‘covenant’ together to pursue the mission and vision of our church. The Old Testament idea of ‘bonding; or a binding agreement between two parties’ is helpful in deepening our understanding. In short, covenant partners at RADIUS Church have decided to come together to pursue Jesus and push forward the mission of RADIUS Church to make Jesus famous in our community. Likewise, the elders of RADIUS Church have agreed to take spiritual responsibility for those who have partnered with our body.

Discovery is an informal, 1-hour opportunity to learn more about RADIUS and the first step in becoming a Partner at RADIUS Church. To learn more, check out the Discovery process information below:

Kids

In RADIUS Kids, we want kids to know God’s story, make friends, and have fun. We want all of the RADIUS Kids area to be safe places that encourage fun, friendships, and discovering more about God in an age-appropriate way they can understand. Our awesome team of trained volunteers works hard to ensure that your kids will love coming to church!

Students

In RADIUS Students, our goal is to provide a space where students can learn and grow in relationship with Jesus, build friendships with other students, and have some adult leaders who will cheer them on as they learn to own their faith. We want our leaders to provide a “second voice” in the lives of our students – one outside of the home that speaks truth and encouragement into their lives and one that partners with what parents are trying to achieve at home.
