WHAT TO EXPECT
Bible Classes and Leadership Training
The Summer Internship is a deep dive into the Word of God, theology, church leadership, and hands on experience. Weekly classes are an integral part of of our summer internship experience. Each class will be taught by various RADIUS pastors on a wide range of topics that will equip our interns with foundational truths that will build character and knowledge that is essential for their role as healthy members in a local church and community.
Hands-On Ministry Experience
Each intern will be placed in a primary ministry area (kids, students, worship, media, communication, etc.) for the duration of their internship where they will gain “hands-on” ministry experience. Interns will be asked to lead, listen, observe, build, and connect in a variety of different ways depending on their specific ministry area.
Interns can expect to disciple and be discipled. We believe the primary context for life change is relationships. Summer Interns will all have direct ministry supervisors and will be challenged to shepherd others throughout their time at RADIUS.
Ministry Focus Areas
Kids ministry interns will experience the daily work that makes programming possible for children across our six RADIUS Church campuses. This includes work in lesson planning, curriculum writing, and creative projects on a weekly basis. They will also have the opportunity to serve in each of the RADIUS Church campuses in the areas of nursery, preschool, and elementary.
RADIUS Church has programs each weekend for students across our six campuses, from sixth grade through high school. Interns will have relational time to connect with and disciple students. They will also help brainstorm, plan, and lead students programs and events. Each summer, the students participate in mission trips and camps, interns play a critical role in planning and helping lead these trips.
Worship interns will participate in leading worship for each of our campus ministries (adult, student, children’s) across our six campuses as an instrumentalist or vocalist. Worship interns will also be responsible for planning, executing, and leading worship experiences for student events and programs throughout the summer.
Media interns will gain hands-on experience operating the soundboard and other various A/V equipment (light board, video switcher, video camera, ProPresenter, etc) at each of our campuses. Interns will have the opportunity to see how campuses of different sizes and different ministries utilize technology during worship services. Interns can expect to record and edit videos, interview, and direct people. They will learn about production workflow both in a studio setting and during the weekend services. They will also learn how to use video to craft and tell a story in a compelling way.
In any large organization, communication is always a challenging but critical part of the daily operation. Interns will use various forms of communication, such as writing articles, website updates, social media, and graphic design to effectively communicate important information.
