Do You Want to Hear God?

For many of us, the story of Jonah is one about a man and a fish. The reality is that Jonah’s story (written by him for our benefit), is one man’s story of God’s grace to him in the midst of his greatest disobedience. This week, John asked us a few important questions that we should consider:

  1. Would you believe God? Believe in Jesus?
  2. Has God ever asked you to do anything?
  3. Has God ever asked you to do something that you didn’t want to do?
  4. Do you want to hear God?
  5. Do you want to do what He wants or what you want?

Hearing from God begins by responding to His call on your life to follow Jesus. For some, responding to the first question is the roadblock to even asking the others. For others, the heart issue of wanting to hear what God has to say has become the stumbling block. Are you reading His Word? Do you want to? Somewhere, even in the darkest part of Jonah’s life, Jonah was able to lean on his relationship with the sovereign God because he knew the voice of God. Can you say the same?

If you would like to begin a conversation about following Jesus or would like to talk more about how your story and the Gospel connect, we would love to hear from you. If you have questions, please feel free to ask them here.

Week 1 Story:
The Life of Michael Funderburk

Each week throughout this series, we’ll bring you the story of one of the folks (or families) at RADIUS Church – Lexington. We want to do this so that we can grow as a family, but also so that you can see that there is power when you tell your story to someone else. Would you like to share your story in the future with our church? Let us know here.
