Sacred: Week 2

“You shall have no other gods before me.” – Exodus 20:3

This week we explored the First Commandment. Through the Commandments, God wanted to set the boundaries for healthy living for His people. In the First Commandment it can be seen that there is an assumption that we will have other ‘little g’ gods that will compete for the central place in our lives. We were built to worship something. The One True God wanted to make sure that He would be at the center of our lives and that we would worship Him. In doing so, we would lead healthy lives that were obedient to the King of the universe. As Keller puts it: “Obedience is willingness to have your will crossed.”  The healthiest way to do life is to put Jesus at the center of life and obey Him as Lord. Is He your place of refuge? Is He your King? Is He your Savior?

We’d love to help connect you to Jesus and to His people. You can reach out to us via email and let’s start a conversation.
