This week Todd Carnes joined us as we looked at Ecclesiastes chapter 7. In it Solomon implores his readers to develop the soil of their hearts to gain wisdom. Though there can seem to be much cynicism in Solomon’s words, he is simply speaking from his experiences. If we are to gain wisdom and “have a good name” at the end of our life, we must use the opportunities that we are presented to gain that wisdom. As Solomon points out, many of those opportunities are in moments of pain and struggle and not in the moments of victory and celebration. As you reflect on your life and your legacy, do you find you have areas in which you’d like to grow? The first step may be surrendering those areas to Jesus. If you’d like to start a conversation about that, we’d love to hear from you.
