Sit. Walk. Stand.

Week 7

“Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it’s thinking of yourself less.”

– CS Lewis

The antidote to our pride is the discipline of servanthood. The Bible teaches that “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6). Out of the overflow of what Jesus has done for us, we should overflow with grace and service toward our friends and neighbors. Practicing this as a discipline helps us practice humility. This doesn’t always mean serving in the church. Often it looks like humbly serving in our homes, our marriages, and our friendships. It also often means serving without any reward or recognition. How can you practice servanthood today? Where do you need to confess the sin of pride and arrogance in your life?

If you would like to begin a conversation about following Jesus or more information on how He might be calling you to go, we would love to hear from you. If you have questions, please feel free to ask them here.

Over the next several weeks, we’ll be working through a few books to help guide our training. If you would like to check them out, you can purchase them below.
