Week 2
FOCUS QUESTION
Who is Jesus?
Jesus is the most influential person in history (TIME Magazine).
“First, if he claims to be God and yet in fact is not, he has to be a madman or a lunatic.
Second, if he is neither God nor a lunatic, he has to be a liar, deceiving others by his lie.
Third, if he is neither of these, he must be God. You can only choose one of the three possibilities… There is no need for us to prove if Jesus of Nazareth is God or not. All we have to do is find out if He is a lunatic or a liar. If He is neither, He must be the Son of God.”

TEACH
Walk through John 1 with your friend, guiding them through the passage. It might be a good idea to read the whole chapter first, and then to take it piece by piece.
You can also use our “Bible Reading Tools” folder in the RADIUS App for help, or simply walk through the questions listed below.
- What does this passage say?
- What does this passage say to its original audience?
- What does this passage say about God
- What does this passage say about man?
- How does this passage change the way I relate to people?
- How does this passage prompt me to pray?
Remember, don’t overthink all the particulars! Ask questions, let the Bible do the talking, and keep learning 🙌
TEACH+
Here is a “Creed” that the church has used for almost 1700+ years to describe who God is. Go through it line by line and see what it might bring up in conversation. What are the most confusing parts? What are the simplest parts?
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended into hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
