DIRECTIONAL ELDERS

Courtney and I have been married since 2004 and have attended RADIUS since 2011. I joined the staff in 2016. I love golf, the Gamecocks, and doing anything with Courtney and our kids - Durham, Hyatt, and McCoy. I graduated from Presbyterian College, where I played football and received a B.A. in Religion. I completed my Masters in Education Administration from CIU.

Trisha and I got married in 1998 and have two kids, Lucia and Silas, both of whom were adopted from Colombia, South America.  Together we comprise ‘Team Kirkland’ (complete with matching hats, just like the Griswold’s).  We enjoy Clemson football, board games, quality snacks, and getting outside as much as possible.

As a pastor, I bring this same team approach to RADIUS, which means I have an eye toward anything that helps us continue to grow our culture of family and friendship at RADIUS. Most frequently this plays out practically in our weekly community groups, but also happens during times like weekend getaways, softball games, cornhole tournaments, and of course, Sunday morning.

My undergraduate degree is from Clemson (the highlight of this time was meeting my wife), and also hold a MA in Biblical Exegesis from Wheaton College Graduate School (the highlight of this season was growing in my love for the local church).

Cheryl and I have been married since 1989 and have six children: Isaiah, Moriah (married to Timmy Lovett), Israel (married to Hannah), Elijah, Jeremiah, and Malachi. Recently, Cheryl and I have enjoyed hitting Grandparent status, adding Amelia, Lyla Grace, Crew, Lucia, Alice, Harvey, and Eliana – seven grandchildren born in a span of just four years-to our crew. We began planting churches over 30 years ago and are passionate to continue making disciples and living generously through the planting of local churches all across the state of South Carolina and beyond.
