ABOUT ME:
I am a South Carolina native having been raised in Inman, SC. My wife, Emily, and I have been married since the Fall of 2019. We met at North Greenville University where I received a B.A. in Christian Studies and started my Masters of Divinity. We previously lived in the city of Greer where I served as a pastoral resident and worked as an admissions counselor for NGU but moved to Gilbert during the summer of 2021 to work at RADIUS Church and aid in the discipling of the next generation. I enjoy anything outdoors like camping, kayaking, hunting, and hiking and reading books about things most people find boring (my current favorite is American Buffalo which tells the history of Bison in America).

WHY I LOVE MY JOB:
I enjoy having the opportunity to come alongside college students and young adults. Being able to equip young believers who will one day be influencers in their homes, communities, and workplaces is truly a gift.

All things for RADIUS Carolina and college students.

Communications Coordinator; Student Ministry Co-Lead

Kayla Fields

ABOUT ME:
I met my handsome husband, Jared, at summer church camp (awww) in 2018. After graduating from NC State (go wolfpack!) in 2022 and then getting married, we packed up from our homes in NC and moved to Lexington as I pursued a role in college women’s ministry. Knowing no one here, I randomly scheduled a haircut and where did the stylist go to church? RADIUS! And the rest is history; RADIUS Church quickly became our family when we had no one else here in SC and has played a big part in the way Jared and I have grown in our pursuit of Christ. I’m a huge animal lover, but most of that love goes towards our “fuzzy pitbull” named Oppie. I will always find an excuse to grab an iced coffee and go thrifting, plant shopping, or take a walk to soak up the sunshine.

WHY I LOVE MY JOB:
I am passionate about helping young adults pursue Christ and be in community that calls them deeper into that relationship. Having Christ-centered community changed my life in college, and I want other students- middle school, high school, and college to experience that life change too! I love my job because I’m naturally an organized “see it to completion” person, thrive off of encouraging others, and want to use my creativity to help share the heart of God with our community.

Worship Ministry Resident

Nick Joy

ABOUT ME:
My name is Nick Joy, and I’m from Lexington, SC. I’m a recent Anderson University graduate with a Bachelor’s of Music in Worship Leadership. I’m a fan of most types of music, but recently I’ve been listening to more worship and jazz. My fiancée and I are looking forward to getting plugged in at RADIUS and being a part of a new church family!

WHY I LOVE MY JOB:
I have always loved music but when God changed my life and brought me back to him in High School, I’ve sought ways to serve Him with the gifts of music He gave me. Serving through worship has brought me closer to God, closer to those that serve alongside me, and closer to the church family.

CONTACT ME FOR:
Feel free to reach out to talk over a meal or coffee, or with the desire to get plugged into serving with the worship ministry at RADIUS Carolina! I would love to get to know you!

Media & Technology Coordinator - Carolina

Andrew Thompson

ABOUT ME:
I come from the small town of Oxford, Michigan where I met and married my beautiful bride, Christianna. Together we are raising our little Oliver and Ivy while excitedly expecting a little girl here soon. Children have long held a special place in both of our hearts, and we are grateful to be entrusted with a couple of our own.

Prior to packing up our lives in a U-Haul trailer and “transplanting” to Columbia, Christianna worked as a nanny and I served as program director at a residential treatment home for youth in the foster care system. The heartbreaking tragedies we witnessed these children walking through has left a permanent imprint on our hearts, and continues to be a primary motivating factor in the way we serve the kingdom today.

While the vast majority of our days are spent between work, living in a full renovation project, and church, we enjoy getting outdoors for family walks/hikes, beach days, kayaking rivers, and most recently have begun to adapt the southern way of Pickle Ballin’.

WHY I LOVE MY JOB:
RADIUS has quickly become a significant part of our lives and I am grateful for the solid community of Jesus-followers. I consider it an honor and a joy to have the opportunity to love and serve the next generation of soon-to-be graduates as they pass through our doors. Watching young souls searching for the truth is by far one of my favorite parts of this ministry.

Brian Kirkland

ABOUT ME:
Trisha and I got married in 1998 and have two kids, Lucia and Silas, both of whom were adopted from Colombia, South America.  Together we comprise ‘Team Kirkland’ (complete with matching hats, just like the Griswold’s).  We enjoy Clemson football, board games, quality snacks, and getting outside as much as possible.
As your Groups Pastor I bring this same team approach to RADIUS, which means I have an eye toward anything that helps us continue to grow our culture of family and friendship at RADIUS. Most frequently this plays out practically in our weekly community groups, but also happens during times like weekend getaways, softball games, cornhole tournaments, and of course, Sunday morning.

My undergraduate degree is from Clemson (the highlight of this time was meeting my wife), and also hold a MA in Biblical Exegesis from Wheaton College Graduate School (the highlight of this season was growing in my love for the local church).

FUN FACT:
If I won the lottery, I would treat myself to a brand new pair of socks every day.

Together, we have been working with kids and youth in various capacities for the past 20+ years.

Media & Technology Coordinator - Lexington

Kyle Fuller

ABOUT ME:
Hi, I’m Kyle. I’m originally from a small town in Kentucky, but moved to South Carolina in 2008. Church has always been a part of my life and when I got to South Carolina it was difficult to find a church that I felt like calling home. That is until late 2016 or so when I visited RADIUS Church Lexington for the first time. It wasn’t long before I really felt like this was where God wanted me to be and so I began to call RADIUS home. By 2017, I knew I wanted to be more involved so I volunteered for the A/V team. A lot has happened since then in my life, some things that have been good and some things that have been bad, but two things have been certain through it all. My RADIUS family has been there to support me when I needed them most and that God is good all the time.

Currently, I serve as part with the A/V staff part-time, working with all aspects of technology to help bring a distraction free environment (as much as possible) for others to come worship and learn about our amazing God. I love what I do and enjoy learning alongside other A/V staff and volunteers and glorifying God with all that we do.

Campus Administrator - Lexington

ABOUT ME:

WHY I LOVE MY JOB:
I love my job, because I get to take care of the behind scenes details.

Maddie List

ABOUT ME:
My family moved to coastal South Carolina in 2014. Having two brothers taught me to love adventures outside, but I also enjoy reading, writing, learning how to cook, and (of course) playing music! My walk with Jesus began the summer before my freshman year of high school, and I have had the blessing of serving in worship ministry ever since. In Spring 2024, I graduated Liberty University with a B.S. in Music and Worship, and I am excited to be at RADIUS as a Worship Resident!

WHY I LOVE MY JOB:

More than 19 years later, we have 2 kids and a dog and love plugging into all that Lexington has to offer. I love coffee and I hate grocery shopping (praise God for Shipt). I’m not a hugger but I do often show affection through sarcasm and smiles.

WHY I LOVE MY JOB:
I am a firm believer in community as I know God didn’t intend for us to live this life alone. It is an honor to get to go to work each day with the goal of pushing people towards each other and pointing them to Christ. Plus, my coworkers are pretty cool (well, most of them are).

ABOUT ME:
Jess and I met at Furman University and were married in 2007. We have four sons – Samuel, Luke, Eli, and James – and life on Team Shuford is as full as you can imagine! We spent the first six years of our married life serving as members of RADIUS Church in Greenville where John and Cheryl were instrumental in casting for us a vision of life in God’s Kingdom and the opportunity to now serve the midlands together is so exciting! After 15 years of ministry in the upstate through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Grace Church, we packed up the family and moved during the Summer of 2020 to plant RADIUS Church in Downtown Columbia. I serve as the Campus Pastor of RADIUS Church Downtown and we are grateful to be a part of the RADIUS family and on mission in the city. As a family we are always on the lookout for the next exciting outdoor adventure, challenging game, great movie, or new friend!

WHY I LOVE MY JOB:
God has been so kind to our family and as a result we have always strived to pass His grace on to the folks around us while inviting them to join us on the great adventure of walking with God. To be given the opportunity to join the RADIUS family – one whose mission so closely aligns with Scripture and with that of our own family – is so humbling and exciting. To be able to spend my days sharing the hope of Jesus and encouraging and equipping people to grow in their relationship with Him is a dream come true!

Student Coordinator - Southside

David Brown

ABOUT ME:
My wife, Kaitlen, and I met in college at Colorado Christian University and got married in 2019, shortly after graduating. We’re blessed with three children – Elias, Nile, and Taytum. Life at the Brown household is busy, a little bit crazy, and filled with adventure!

For the first three and a half years of our marriage, we lived in Tooele County, Utah, which is a little over 30 minutes outside of Salt Lake City. There, we were in full-time ministry at a church plant called Lakeview Church. I had the honor of serving as the Youth and Worship Pastor, while Kaitlen was the Children’s Director. Through this experience, God truly shaped our passion and desire to see God’s Kingdom move and to reach people with the amazing news of the Gospel.

We moved to Columbia in January of 2023 and got plugged in with RADIUS right away. God has opened to door for me to serve as a Ministry Resident at RADIUS Church – Southside, and we are both humbled and grateful for the opportunity. We are also beyond excited to be a part of God’s work here in the Midlands of South Carolina!

WHY I LOVE MY JOB:
As a follower of Jesus, I’ve been the recipient of God’s love, grace, mercy, and kindness. Knowing how desperately I need Jesus and how much joy and hope He has brought me, I couldn’t possibly keep that all to myself! In fact, we are supposed to bring the wonderful news of Jesus to everyone around us, which is what RADIUS Church is all about. I am thankful that I get to spend my time encouraging, equipping, and pointing others to Jesus!

Worship Leader - Southside

Natalie Maser

ABOUT ME:
My husband, Adam, and I moved to Columbia from Denver, CO in 2022. We had never even visited the area, but we had family here and with two small children and no family nearby in Denver, that was all the motivation we needed to make the cross-country trek. While the pace of life here has been an adjustment, we’ve come to love Columbia and are so happy to call it home. Now, we have three small children – Alec, Alena, and Arabella – and we are constantly marveling at all the ways God has blessed and surprised and provided for us since moving here.

WHY I LOVE MY JOB:
Music has always been a huge part of my life, at times professionally and at other times just as a passion, but it’s never made more sense or fit into place better than when I’m able to use those gifts to glorify God and point others to him. I absolutely love helping other musicians and vocalists develop their gifts and learn to lead with joy and excellence. I’m so excited and humbled to get to lead our sweet people at Southside in worship and continue to share the truth about God through song.

Campus Coordinator - Southside

MC Probus

ABOUT ME:
Greetings from the Southside! My husband, Griff, and I were both born and raised in West Columbia, and we still call WECO home. We met in 6th grade, graduated high school together, and both attended the University of South Carolina where I earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. After working in the corporate world for 9 years, the door into ministry opened and here we are. We partnered with RADIUS White Knoll from 2017 until Southside was established in 2020 and love crossing over the river to Southside to worship with our church fam. You can catch us cheering on the Gamecocks at any sporting event, walking our golden retriever (Wrigley) at the riverwalk, hanging out with any of our 7 nieces and nephews, or heading to the coast any chance we get. I also love thrifting for random treasures! As a former high school softball coach, I still spend time working alongside many Lexington One athletic teams, coordinating their community outreach-and it is one of my greatest joys! I am excited to learn, grow, serve, and develop under Jesus and the RADIUS team!

WHY I LOVE MY JOB:
My engineering brain brings organization and structure to the table while my gifting from the Lord made me an extroverted people person. I love to connect people, but also love a checklist. This job allows space for both all while worshiping God and working alongside some of the best leaders. Let’s go!

Carie and I have been married since 1997 and have three kids in Ansley, Braden, and Carson.   We moved to Lexington from Atlanta in 2010 and love spending time together as a family doing anything active.  I am currently the Vice President of Pricing, Traffic, and W&I for Southeastern Freight Lines and board member for each Clemson School of Ethics and the National Motor Freight Traffic Association.  I hold a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee where I played rugby for the University.

Laurie and I have been married since 1982, and we have 2 children. Laurin is married to Ian Headley, and they have 4 children (Sawyer, Jack, Israel and Libby). Joshua is married to Elizabeth, and they have 2 boys (Carter and Brooks). I enjoy hunting , fishing and training my dog G.

Our family became involved with church planting in 1990 by planting a church in Lexington. In 2003, we learned there was a group of young folks planting a church in Lexington/Columbia. We attended one of their first meetings and knew we would join this new work.

During the years of serving in outreach events, being in small groups and attending Sunday mornings for worship, we have made so many friends that are truly our family. I have enjoyed serving in leadership at RADIUS Church as a small group leader and Directional Elder. God has used both of these roles to grow my understanding of who He is and His faithfulness to His church.

ABOUT ME:
My lovely wife Alison is the primary reason I am here with you at RADIUS.  She has turned me into a southerner (I am originally from Philadelphia), played a large role in my faith walk and our family has made her hometown our home. We have been married since 1995 and are the proud parents of three fine young men; Justin, John and David. I am a fan of all things with a motor – the faster and louder the better.

WHY I LOVE MY JOB:
My work experience is primarily in manufactuing and operations.  I am passionate about systems and performance.  It is my goal to use my gift of administration to further enhance how well we at RADIUS can share the gospel and change lives through a relationship with Jesus.

FUN FACTS:
– I have 5 brothers each 18 months apart and all of our names begin with J.  James, John, Joseph, Jerry, Jason and Justin.  My mom was hoping for a girl each time.
– In college, I danced in a dance marathon for 48 hours straight. (Since then I haven’t danced for more than 5 hours in total.)

ABOUT ME:
RADIUS was my home church throughout most of my middle and high school years before my family moved to the upstate, and I attended Liberty University to study Commercial Music with an emphasis in songwriting. After interning and completing a worship residency with RADIUS, I developed a love for leading the local body in corporate worship and for developing student musicians, both musically and as young leaders and followers of Christ. When I am not working, I love writing songs, playing music, enjoying the outdoors, and riding and working with horses.

WHY I LOVE MY JOB:
I love Jesus, music, and people, and I can’t think of a better way to combine the things I love most! I love working with our adult and student teams, teaching people about worship, and developing the next generation of worship leaders. Watching people experience true freedom, peace, and genuine joy as they engage in corporate worship fills my heart like nothing else.

Jared Fields

ABOUT ME:
Hey I’m Jared! My beautiful wife Kayla and I got married and moved to Lexington in 2022 from Eastern NC. Our one and only child is a fuzzy pit bull named Oppie. I am a huge Pittsburgh Steeler fan, but enjoy all things football and wrestling. Most people say I’m a tinkerer; I enjoy working on and fixing anything and everything. Buying, selling, and fixing all different types of cars has been a passion of mine since I got my license.

WHY I LOVE MY JOB:
I’ve always had a passion for helping people and being in the community, and RADIUS is just the place for that. Along with being able to grow my faith and community through RADIUS and beyond, I love the opportunity to pursue my passions with RADIUS!

Media Arts / Facilities Coordinator

Darrell Frick

ABOUT ME:
I was born and raised in the Batesburg-Leesville area. I have been married to my prayer order bride Angela since 1982, and we have two children – a son, Roy, married to Maggie, they live in Lexington; and a daughter, Dallas, married to Lincoln Jones and they live in Indiana. Angela and I have four grandchildren – Will Frick, Raleigh Ann Jones, Brody Frick, & Madison Jones.
We also have a young lady we call our daughter, Zina Torres-Rico, who we sponsored many years ago through Compassion Ministry in the Philippines. Pastor Torres, Zina’s father, and the Torres family is the heart of EastWind ministry that the Lord has lead us into to help spread His Word in the Philippines. Zina is married to McRonald Rico, and they have blessed us with a grandson RZ.

WHY I LOVE MY JOB:
I enjoy being around brothers and sisters in Christ that have a passion for advancing the Kingdom of God. I am so thankful for my RADIUS family and where the Lord has put us at this stage of our life.

Accountant

Sandy Graan

ABOUT ME:
My family is from Green Bay, WI and yes, we are cheeseheads and will always love our Green Bay Packers! I moved my family to W. Michigan in 2010 to follow career opportunities and we spent 12 years there, where the beaches are some of the most beautiful in the country (3 months of the year)! In 2018, we took the big step of moving our family to the Gulf Coast of Florida, where we can enjoy beach life 12 months out of the year – and trust me, we do! My husband, Jeff is in Technology Sales, primarily in the Logistics/Supply Chain Mgmt field. Our twins, Jeffrey and Maddie are seniors in college; our son has been commissioned as an officer in the Armor branch of the Army and our daughter is pursuing a career in Criminal Justice/Law after graduation.

I am a CPA with 20+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance, Leadership, and Customer Success. I began supporting churches and non-profits after Hurricane Ian hit in late 2022 when I felt called to use my skills and experience for a greater cause beyond profits and balance sheets. I have been a member of a church very similar to RADIUS, Deep Creek Community Church in Punta Gorda, FL for 2 years and was baptized in the Peace River in July of 2022 along with my husband of almost 30 years!

WHY I LOVE MY JOB:
I get the absolute pleasure of combining my love for Jesus and the church with my lifelong passion for accounting! I’ve worked in a professional setting for many years and have enjoyed many aspects of that, but the satisfaction I get from helping to steward the generous contributions of God’s people to grow His Kingdom is beyond measure.

Andy Ott

ABOUT ME:
Lannie and I have been married since 2003 and have three boys: Micah, Noah, and Jonah. I am a recovering perfectionist. I love details, systems, and building teams. When I take time off, you’ll find me coaching my boys’ baseball teams, catching a Fireflies game, or watching / listening to a baseball game. Our family is attempting to see a game in all 30 Major League Baseball stadiums together before the boys are out of college. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music in Technical Design & Production. Lannie and I have been involved at RADIUS since 2004.

WHY I LOVE MY JOB:
I have to agree with Bill Hybels when he says that the local church is the hope of the world. It is a joy and privilege to help this local church accomplish our mission of making disciples, planting more local churches and being generous in our community and around the world. It’s a bunch of fun to come to work everyday and get to communicate with folks across the street or around the world, but even moreso shows how big our God really is.
