“This summer, over 60 families gathered across our campuses for our first ever Parent Equip nights! As a church, we asked the question, “How can we support parents in their journey to be effective disciple-makers of their children in their homes?” We enlisted the help of over 30 veteran couples who prayed and prepared to answer difficult questions presented by these parents who participated in the event. The response? Check out some of the things folks were saying below:
“It was awesome.”
“I’m so glad I attended.”
“When’s the next one going to happen?”
“I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this was so encouraging!”
“I’m thankful for the opportunity to connect with an older couple who’s been through what I’m dealing with.”
I could go on and on, but let me give you another stat. When we asked parents who participated in the event if they would want to do this again, 100% of them said, “Yes.” Clearly our families are eager to have conversations about how to faithfully disciple their children. And we as a church have the responsibility of supporting them in this journey. I hope you’ll join us in two possible ways moving forward: prayer and participation. Be on the lookout for more Parent Equip events in the future. Until then, may the Lord bless you in your walk with Him!”
